◇ Just read — no move neededSolid first, sharp second
Sixth-strength play is what a decent club player feels like: sound development, no immediate tactics to punish, plans that stretch over ten moves. Beating it requires the middlegame skills of chapter 10 — an exchange that wins a line, a blockade that wins a piece — set up quietly and sprung at the right moment. Do not look for the knockout in the opening; build the position where the knockout exists, and survive long enough for your plan to mature. Count the plan in moves, not captures: ten quiet moves with the plan advancing is a good game here.
